BRICKS

'Bricks' is a buddy novel that climbs out of the dystopia that Bobby and Bricks have created in their lives. Two characters reclaim themselves from the dustbin that life has thrown them into. This is told in an original voice of strong storytelling with vivid characters. ‘Bricks’ is literary pulp fiction that blends genres

The story is set in a working class Scotland of recent year and it breaks out into something of a 'road movie'.

This novel reflects a newly emerging zeitgeist; in Scotland, Europe and the world. It is a high action story with a message of hope, rather than the chaos.
With gritty realistic dialogue, the real story here is the conquest of fear by two men from Scotland’s underclass. In a world where male role models have melted faster than the polar icecap two men who have grown up without mentors find that between them they already have the makings of one good man. The challenge, for both of them, is to be him.

‘Bricks’ is a fine parable of an emerging awareness and empowerment in Scotland as part of a new growing worldwide popular confidence
